Documentary filmmaker Peter Musurlian was nominated for a “Featured Documentary (over 25 minutes)” award by the Los Angeles Press Club for his film “Historic Armenia,” which first aired on Horizon Armenian Television in October 2014, Asbarez reports.

The filmmaker of the 40-minute documentary will struggle for the nomination with four other nominees. The awards ceremony will be held at the Downtown Los Angeles Biltmore on June 28, 2015.

“Historic Armenia” tells about the trip of a group of Armenian-American tourists, led by pioneering tour guide Armen Aroyan, throughout Eastern Turkey, to visit cities, towns, and villages, where over two million Armenians lived 100 years ago, before the Armenian Genocide.

In 2013, Peter Musurlian won Emmy award for the documentary “Burbank’s African Sister City,” aired on The Burbank Channel.
