MOSCOW. - Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed to his Armenian counterpart to discuss the issues of economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia.

At the meeting, Putin characterized the relation between the countries as “relations of strategic partnership,” TASS reports.

“Our relations develop successfully. [But] Of course, there are problems of objective nature,” the head of the Russian state said.

He also added that an economic cooperation is also developing between the countries.

“We are overall satisfied with how we have put up the basis of our relations. I have no doubt that drawing on our joint decisions of still previous years, we will also develop in that direction,” Putin said.

Apart from this, Putin reminded that this year Armenia chairs the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

“I hope it will be possible to speak to you as to the Chairman of this international organization, since it is the one responsible for the issues of security, fight against terrorism, organized crime and the calm on our borders,” the Russian President said.

He also proposed to Sargsyan to discuss cooperation issues in the framework of the EEU.
