YEREVAN. – The fire, which had broken out in the early morning hours on Monday at the roof of a building in downtown Yerevan—the capital city of Armenia, was managed to be put off after a five-hour firefighting.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the news service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the wooden structures at the seventh-floor roof of the building as well as nine offices of a company were affected by the fire.

Twelve fire brigades, three fire engines, and operational and emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene. 

Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan directed the firefighting efforts.
