The French police have presented information on the truck which ploughed into crowd in Nice.
The police are conducting an investigation to find out whether the document found in the truck belongs to the terrorist who was behind the steering wheel of this vehicle, reported Le Figaro newspaper of France.
“The truck was able to approach the English coast, which the police are patrolling, and he [i.e. the terrorist] drove along the coast for about 2 kilometers, where vehicle traffic is prohibited. During this time the police did not stop the truck, and it reached without obstacles to where hundreds of people were watching the festive fireworks. Ploughing into the crowd, the truck constantly changed direction. It is apparent that he [i.e. the terrorist] attempted to cause as much damage as possible,” wrote the newspaper.
A truck ploughed into crowd in high speed in downtown Nice on Thursday night, during Bastille Day celebrations.
Subsequently, its driver opened fire on people before police shot him dead.
Large quantities of weapons and explosives were found in the truck.
According to most recent reports, 84 people are dead and 18 others are in critical condition as a result of this terror attack.
