President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan could not hold back his tears at the interment of his supporter Erol Olçak and his 16-year-old son, reported NTV television of Turkey.

“Erol was my friend,” the President said during the funeral.

Olçak was the founder of an agency which was cooperating for many years with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), whose leader was Erdoğan.

Erol Olçak and his son were killed during the recent military coup attempt in Turkey.

But opposition Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who currently lives in the US, has not ruled out the possibility that this coup attempt was staged by Erdoğan himself in order to strengthen his power.
