“Under the Kazan document, which Serzh Sargsyan agreed to, the Armenian side shall surrender 5+2 regions, that is the territories round the Nagorno-Karabakh autonomous oblast (region), receiving an intermediary status instead. But in this way we will surrender the entire Karabakh, and after it Zangezur,” Papian said.
Aliyev’s statement that Armenia has occupied not only Karabakh, but also seven regions round it shows that even the Kazan option is not acceptable for Baku, he added.
“Our authorities had to either create new strong Armenia or resign,” he said.
In his opinion, today’s meeting between the Russian and Turkish leaders bore anti-Armenian accents.
“The only rescue for Armenia is to develop ties with China, which wants to resist the wall of Muslims, as well as with the West, which is not interested in the autocracy of Russia in South Caucasus,” Papian concluded.
