On September 2, the Armenians worldwide celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) independence.
On that day in 1991, the Artsakh parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence. On December 10 of the same year a referendum was held, during which the Artsakh people approved the adoption of the Declaration.
