The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has convened sessions of its executive body and council on Thursday.

The agenda of the sessions is still unknown but the ruling party is expected to discuss the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

A briefing is scheduled to take place by the end of the sessions.

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan announced his resignation following the meeting of the Cabinet on Thursday, despite the rumors that he would do that during the Council session.
