YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a working visit in the US and within the framework of the Armenia Investment Forum that was convened in New York City, on Monday met with Vice-President Wencai Zhang of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

President Sargsyan hailed the Bank’s mission and role in Armenia’s economic development, and underscored that the country and the Bank have established productive cooperation, ever since the ten years of Armenia’s membership to the ADB, the Press Office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Sargsyan stressed the importance of the major investment projects implemented in Armenia through the financing of the ADB.

Highlighting the need to attract investments at this phase of Armenia’s economic development, the President expressed gratitude to the ADB for its assistance to the organization of the said investment forum in New York.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the ADB’s assistance to the development of Armenia’s priority domains to be implemented along the lines of its Armenia Partnership Strategy.

Vice-President Wencai Zhang, for his part, declared that the ADB will continue its collaboration with the Armenian authorities, and, in addition to the projects already in progress, it will provide assistance also to the development of social infrastructure and economic corridors, reforms, and innovative programs which, according to Wencai, will attract new investments to the economy to Armenia.
