The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) hero and junior sergeant Robert Abajyan would turn 20 today. But, alas, so many of his hopes and plans for the future were left unrealized…

According to Robert’s uncle, Edgar Varosyan, a lot can be said about him. “He was full of positive emotions. It was impossible to pass by him without laughing. He was full of life. His answers to all questions were always unique. Robert can simply be called the ‘joy of century.’ Nothing could frustrate him: he always found something positive in everything and moved forward,” his uncle said.

Robert’s mother, Anna Abajyan, also noted that it was impossible to be sad in her son’s company. “He was a cheerful boy and always made everyone happy. He liked his birthdays very much and had even bought a telephone number with his birth date – 16-11-96. Robert was so attentive. He always phoned his family members and was the first to congratulate their birthday,” she remembered with tears in her eyes.
