YEREVAN. – Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technology (IT), Vahan Martirosyan, also has submitted a petition for becoming a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). He noted this on Thursday at the Government Building, speaking to reporters.
When asked whether the ministers are forced to make such a decision, Martirosyan responded: “As the Prime Minister said during the [Cabinet] session, there is no obligation to become a party member; this is my [own] decision.”
Vahan Martirosyan added that he was not engaged in politics, prior to being appointed minister.
As reported earlier, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan announced, at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, that he has submitted an application to join the RPA.
