YEREVAN. – Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan will participate in the parliamentary election campaign of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

“The office of the minister is a political office,” Sargsyan noted at a press conference on Friday. “I’m a member of the executive body of the Republican Party, and I will participate in the campaign, to the extent to which the party considers it expedient. 

“[But] I will see to it that the letter and spirit of the law will not be broken as a result of my participation in the campaign.

“I have one dream: that we would be able to ensure a result in the upcoming elections, which will enable me to work at the Ministry of Defense in the coming years, since I see much to do here.”

Vigen Sargsyan stressed that a serious team is working, and the incumbent Armenian government is doing a very good job.
