YEREVAN. - In the banners of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the security is depicted in the character of President Serzh Sargsyan dressed in military uniform, which is a failed propaganda.
Yelk (Way Out) alliance member and MP Nikol Pashinyan said the aforementioned at the campaign rally held in Yerevan’s Aznavour Square on Wednesday.
According to him, the greatest enemy of Armenia is despair, and it is Yelk’s task during the elections to overcome this and say that there is a way out.
Referring to the RPA motto “Security and progress,” Pashinyan said that their campaign is failed, since Serzh Sargsyan—who is depicted in banners in a military uniform— was the only head of state in the 25 years of history, during whose term the Armenian people lost 800 ha of land. “As a result of his government, the security of Armenia is ensured by weapons of the 80s. Even the re-equipment at the frontline was carried out thanks to the crowdfunding of the citizens,” Pashinyan said.
The MP asked what they were busy with for 25 years. “How come you have destructive cars, destructive consumes, destructive houses but not destructive aviation? Do you ensure Armenia’s security so that now the Premier says the tanks “wouldn’t start”? It would be better to depict on the poster a tank which won’t start. Looking at Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian citizens should realize that they are looking at a tank, which didn’t, isn’t and won’t start,” Pashinyan noted.
In his words, security is Serzh Sargsyan’s linchpin.
Referring to the word “progress,” he said that Karen Karapetyan is the one who symbolizes it in the RPA banners.
