YEREVAN. – The Armenian government plans to invest $109 million in Vayots Dzor province, PM Karen Karapetyan said during Sunday campaign rally in Yeghegnadzor.

“At the moment, the Republican Party is considering an investment of $ 3.2 billion in the entire territory of Armenia. In 2017, 830-840 million will be invested with 109 million of invested in Vayots Dzor, which means that 2,450 jobs will be created,” he said.

Karen Karapetyan also did not rule out possibility of private investment. PM pointed out four areas that have to be considered: agriculture, milk and cheese production, viticulture, wine and mineral water production, and business tourism. The Prime Minister assured that special programs are being developed for each sector.

Incumbent PM Karen Karapetyan is conducting a campaign of the Republican Party of Armenia, although he is not included in the proportional list of the party. Moreover, Karapetyan is not heading the campaign headquarters. Karapetyan was joined by Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan and Culture Minister Armen Amiryan.
