Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, reported the Facebook page of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
They discussed the importance of implementing the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement to underpin domestic reform in Armenia, for which Federica Mogherini confirmed the European Union’s full support, EU External Action Service said in a statement.
They also exchanged on the prospects for opening a visa liberalisation dialogue between the EU and Armenia.
High Representative Mogherini and Prime Minister Pashinyan took stock of a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in light of recent contacts between Armenia and Azerbaijan. High Representative Mogherini advocated Prime Minister Pashinyan’s full engagement in negotiations without preconditions, under the auspices of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
Federica Mogherini and Nikol Pashinyan finally had an exchange on broader regional dynamics.
Pashinyan is on a two-day working visit to Belgium. Earlier, he participated in the session of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
