YEREVAN. – The final solution to the Karabakh conflict shall be the international recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction at the National Assembly, noted the aforementioned during Monday’s press briefing at the parliament. She noted this while commenting on the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ latest statement with respect to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict.

In her words, there are several points in this statement that raise concern.

“In particular, the agreements that were reached in Vienna and Saint Petersburg are pushed to the background,” the MP noted. “I believe that, in this case, solely the fact that this statement was accepted with great motivation and enthusiasm in Azerbaijan already attests to many things.”

Tonoyan stressed that considering Baku’s tough stance on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and its threats—aimed at Artsakh—to resume hostilities, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ latest statement, especially the part on concessions by the Armenian side, is unacceptable.

The MP added that no issue on the future destiny of Karabakh can be resolved without considering the view and stance of the people of Artsakh.
