YEREVAN. – We will still go, conduct inspections at all water-use associations; we’ll see who has stolen how much.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday stated the aforementioned at the National Assembly of Armenia, and during the debates on the 2018 activity report of the government.

Srbuhi Grigoryan, a member of the majority My Step faction at parliament, raised the matter that water-use associations had not been paid salaries, and therefore they were boycotting and not preparing for the irrigation season until they got their salaries.

“If I’m not mistaken, water users get salary based on their [water usage fee] collections,” Pashinyan responded, in particular. “We will still go, conduct inspections at all water-use associations; we’ll see who has stolen how much [from those collections].”

The PM noted that if water-use associations were not getting salaries, then they were not being managed well, and therefore there was a need for a change in this system.

“It’s one of the most robbed systems [in Armenia],” Nikol Pashinyan added, above all.
