YEREVAN. – Members of the majority “My Step” Faction at the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and who on Friday had headed for the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) on an official visit, returned from halfway to vote in parliament and then head back to Artsakh.
Faction MP Sisak Gabrielyan told about the abovementioned to reporters at the NA.
The parliament special session has resumed several hours after it could not be reconvened due to lack of a quorum; now there is quorum.
The morning sitting was put off because there was lack of a quorum, since the My Step faction members were not at the NA Sessions’ Hall.
At this special session, the legislature shall debate on—and in the second reading—the law package with respect to the drafts on making amendments to the NA regulations’ constitutional law, and on making amendments and supplements to the law on the Constitutional Court. This package refers to the procedure for nominating a candidate for a Constitutional Court (CC) judge. President Armen Sarkissian has nominated Gor Hovhannisyan as such a candidate.
