I don’t share the opinion that the Four-Day Artsakh War of April 2016 was all about Azerbaijan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. There are no facts about that. This is what leader of Bright Armenia Party Edmon Marukyan declared at Yerablur Military Pantheon on 2 April.
After the Four-Day Artsakh War, Nikol Pashinyan had stated that the war was all about Azerbaijan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.
Marukyan noted that Nikol Pashinyan made this statement when he was a Deputy of the Armenian National Congress (ANC).
“Azerbaijan hasn’t acceded and has no aim to accede to the Eurasian Economic Union. Azerbaijan is in a more favorable situation than Armenia without being a member of the Union,” the political party leader said.
When asked what allowed Azerbaijan to make such a provocation, Marukyan said the following: “There are many reasons. Armenia should only think about being strong. The adversary can attack again at any moment, and Armenia has to be ready for that.”
Today, on 2 April, representatives of Bright Armenia Party Edmon Marukyan, Maneh Tandilyan and other members visited Yerablur Military Pantheon to pay tribute to the servicemen and freedom fighters who died during the Four-Day Artsakh War in April 2016.
