The special congress of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders (UVLD) kicked off in the sessions hall of the Government on 7 April. Board chairperson of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of the Republic of Armenia will be elected during the congress. Sasun Mikaelyan was nominated for this post. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is taking part in the congress.

The special congress of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders (UVLD) will include the following issues in the agenda:

1. elections of the board and board chairperson of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of the Republic of Armenia,

2. elections of the audit committee of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of the Republic of Armenia,

3. declaration of the 12th Special Congress of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of the Republic of Armenia.

The post of Board chairperson of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of the Republic of Armenia the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union has been held by General Grigoryan Manvel since 1999, against whom a criminal case was initiated last year, he was arrested.
