YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian, who is in Portugal on a working visit, took part in the annual Horasis Global Meeting.

The presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Sarkissian was a speaker at the discussions on forming the future.

President Sarkissian noted that all countries approach differently toward resolving the problems that emerge. He noted that in Armenia’s case, the respective formula is that the “small” can be very successful by taking into account what occurs in the world.

The Armenian President reflected also on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and noted that we are dealing here with a long process of permanent revolution and evolutionary development. 

Sarkissian expressed a conviction, however, that people should not be afraid of artificial intelligence.

Armen Sarkissian added that revolution takes place not only in economy and technology, but also in human conduct.

In connection with environmental damage caused by climate change and human activity, the Armenian President stated that the right technology, political will, investments, and collective accountability are needed to resolve this matter.

In conclusion, President Sarkissian touched upon the role and importance which technological accomplishments have in our lives. In this connection, he expressed a conviction that these accomplishments will dramatically change people’s social and political conduct.
