The delegation led by Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan is in Stepanakert to participate in the opening ceremony of the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games that has kicked off in the capital of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), as reported the news service of Yerevan Municipality. After Hayk Marutyan and Mayor of Stepanakert Suren Grigoryan laid flowers at the memorial complex dedicated to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, Hayk Marutyan met with the coaches and athletes representing Yerevan at the 7th Pan-Armenian Summer Games. Greeting the members of the team from Yerevan, the mayor voiced hope that the team will represent the capital of all Armenians with honor at the Games.
The mayor and the team members talked about issues related to sport and cultural life and other spheres in Yerevan, after which Marutyan met with his counterpart of Stepanakert Suren Grigoryan. The interlocutors stated that the conduct of the Pan-Armenian Summer Games in Stepanakert will serve as a serious impetus for enhancement of the relations between the two capitals and will make Artsakh more recognizable in various communities of the Armenian Diaspora. The mayors also talked about the course of implementation of joint programs.
