First degree disabled, former contractual serviceman Davit Hakobyan is protesting today in front of the building of the Ministry of Defense with the demand that the ministry sends him abroad for medical treatment.

Members of the “Dirkapah” (Border Guard) Union of Participants of the Four-Day Artsakh War have joined the former serviceman’s protest.

“I went on a hunger strike, but there was no response. Now I demand that the minister meet me so that we can finally understand how my problem is going to be solved,” he said.

Davit Hakobyan mentioned that the Ministry of Defense had promised to send him to Germany, but he was cheated. He also claims that the doctors at the central military hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia had removed certain organs during his surgery and hadn’t informed him about that.

About a month ago, Advisor to the Minister of Defense Alexander Avetisyan had promised that the young man’s issue would be solved, but no action was taken.

President of the “Dirkapah” Union of Participants of the Four-Day Artsakh War Manuel Manukyan said there shouldn’t have been such a protest today since it is the ministry’s job to provide servicemen with medical treatment.
