YEREVAN. – Gagik Khachatryan has not been arrested yet; he will be detained once the search is completed at his house and some other areas. Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia, Artur Vanetsyan, on Tuesday told this to reporters in a briefing.

He stated that the NSS has launched a criminal case on charges of large-scale embezzlement and abuse of official position, and related to Khachatryan’s years in public office.

Vanetsyan added that the aforesaid search is still in progress.

Gagik Khachatryan formerly held offices as Minister Finance, and Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
