Top secret documents are not kept in the State Archives of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. This is what Director of the State Archives of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Lernik Hakobyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The State Archives of Artsakh has been around since 1930. Top secret documents are not kept in the State Archives. Before I became the director of the State Archives, I had heard that rather valuable documents had been kept, but people from Baku came and took those documents when the movement for the liberation of Artsakh had begun. Currently, there are only economic, political, socio-economic, legal and personal documents,” he said.

Hakobyan said people from CIS countries address the State Archives of Artsakh to obtain personal information.

The personal archives of the second and third Presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan and President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan are also kept in the State Archives.
