YEREVAN. – The economic revolution has already taken place in the country, Armenia's Economy Minister, Tigran Khachatryan, told reporters today.

"To the opposition, who insists that it is not possible, it seems it is something that should happen in the future," he said. "And it ignores the important changes that are part of our reality."

According to the Minister, revolutionary changes have already taken place in Armenia. "There are no artificial monopolies, and there can’t be, there is no corruption, and there can’t be; equal competition conditions, everyone is free to realize their ideas," he said. "This is the revolutionary change that is part of our economic life."

And when asked whether it was possible to secure an economic activity index that is more than 7.1 percent, the Minister was puzzled. “We think 7.1-percent economic activity is good; we agree that it can and should be better,” he said. “We will finish the year with at least 7-percent economic activity index. By the way, it went unnoticed, but a few days ago, the National Statistical Committee also released 9-month GDP growth indicators, which were 7.5 percent."
