They’re forcing us to clear customs for our cars by December 31 of this year, but the law that is in effect for customs clearance within 10 working days after import, isn’t enforced. This is what car importers told Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his visit to the customs house in Gyumri today.
According to them, there are people who imported their cars yesterday and were surprised since they thought that the tenth working day expires in January. They asked the Prime Minister to let people having imported cars to customs clear them within 10 working days or have the customs house stay open 24 hours a day. In response, the Prime Minister said the government would consider the issue.
One of the drivers who wanted to approach the Prime Minister, asked to approach him and said he had walked for Pashinyan during the days of the revolution, to which Pashinyan said the following: “Nobody walked for the Prime Minister. You called me, and I came to see what is going on here.”
Before leaving, the Prime Minister promised to deal with the issue and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
