YEREVAN. – I don’t understand at all why we give the land to any company without a tender. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at today's session of the Armenian government, referring to the government's decision to offer plots of land from the Bagratashen and Bavra custom checkpoints to a duty-free market company, and with the right of construction there.
The Prime Minister called to rule out government decisions to allocate any land to any company without a tender.
Pashinyan noted that if they plan to please everyone, then the government shall decide that the land should be auctioned and let the winner be the one that pays the maximum amount.
"In general, let's abolish the practice that the government decided to give the land without a tender," he added, in particular.
And at the PM's suggestion, this matter was removed from the agenda, and Nikol Pashinyan said he was waiting for a new respective decision to be discussed.
