Officers of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) recently prevented an attempt to transit large quantities of drugs via Armenia, at the Meghri customs checkpoint on the border with Iran.
The SRC officers examined the luggage of an Iranian citizen who had arrived from Iran. As a result, about 5 kg of mattresses were found in the luggage, and the sponges of these mattresses were soaked with opium.
A criminal case has been launched.
The said Iranian national has been detained.
