The National Assembly will convoke an extraordinary session tomorrow at 11 a.m. This is what head of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Lilit Makunts told reporters after the closed session of the Council of the National Assembly today.

She stated that the agenda includes the two bills of the My Step faction, including the legislative initiative of deputy Vahagn Hovakimyan that will allow to bypass the Constitutional Court when making an amendment to the Constitution and the legislative initiative of 37 MPs by which the powers of judges of the Constitutional Court elected prior to April 2018 will be discontinued.

When asked why the authorities are making radical changes, she said the following: “The issues included in the agenda have already been promulgated. Tomorrow we will have ample time to consider all the issues in detail and comprehensively. I am certain that the discussions will be substantive and in-depth.”

Makunts didn’t have an answer to the question whether all 37 deputies had participated in drafting the bill.
