The issue related to Hrayr Tovmasyan was one of the reasons for my resignation. This is what ex-director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan stated during a meeting with the editors-in-chief of Armenian newspapers.

According to him, the authorities aren’t hiding the fact that they aren’t going to tolerate the fact that Hrayr Tovmasyan is the president of the Constitutional Court.

“I met Hrayr Tovmasyan after I became president of the Football Federation of Armenia since Hrayr Tovmasyan’s son was in the team of 14-year-old footballers. He is a very talented boy. Hrayr Tovmasyan would often attend the football matches, and this is how we met. I couldn’t be a part of the developments that unfolded with respect to the Constitutional Court recently. I won’t answer the question whether I was given an assignment or not, but I’ll tell you that one of the main reasons for my resignation was my discord. I made a wake-up call, but nobody paid attention,” Vanetsyan said.
