YEREVAN. – [The late statesmen] Vazgen Sargsyan once said that the 21st century will be ours. I think today's positive changes, we are already on the way to realizing it. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia party and head of the Bright Armenia faction in parliament, said this in a conversation with reporters today.

Asked whether we now live in the Armenia that Vazgen Sargsyan dreamed of, Marukyan added: “Armenia must be strong in the South Caucasus; all countries shall take us into account. A strong country from which Armenians do not go, but where Armenians return; this is a dream we are on the way to fulfilling. Today is a good day because it is the birthday of the hero standing on the foundations of our country's statehood, army building. If we do not remember our heroes, do not pay tribute to their memory, then we will have no new heroes.”
