Touching upon the referendum for constitutional amendments today, deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, President of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders Sasun Mikayelyan told reporters that the referendum should have been held a long time ago.
“In a speech, I said Armenians’ constitutional rights have been violated, and it is the authorities’ duty to listen to the people’s voice. A shift of power has taken place, but the Constitutional Court is taking us in another direction with its decisions. We’re giving the people the chance to change this situation,” he said.
When asked what decisions the Constitutional Court has taken to lead the country in another direction, Sasun Mikayelyan said he hasn’t seen any normal decision taken by the Constitutional Court. He also said the referendum for constitutional amendments should have been held a long time ago.
