There is currently no deficit of disinfectants in Armenia. The problem is that the manufacturers couldn’t imagine that they would be in demand so much. This is what Chairman of the State Commission on the Protection of Economic Competition Gegham Gevorgyan told reporters today.

“The Commission conducts observations every day. In regard to alcogels, yesterday I had a meeting with local manufacturers who are producing 6-7 tons of alcogels a day. We’re also going to talk to pharmacies, which receive alcogels and sell all of them. I can’t say how many alcogels are sold across the country, but they’re enough for the population,” Gevorgyan said.

As far as face masks are concerned, Gevorgyan said the prices of face masks vary since they were obtained from different sources and at different prices. When told that pharmacies sell a limited amount of face masks, Gevorgyan said there might not be enough left, if they aren’t sold in a limited amount.

Gevorgyan also stated that he has met the heads of large trade networks and has noticed that there is no panic in stores.
