I would say to the President of Azerbaijan that it is necessary to abandon the stereotypes, that the process of state building cannot be built on hatred, Nazism, that we do not consider the people of Azerbaijan as an enemy. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) presidential candidate David Babayan told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am, answering the question, "After being elected, if the mediators manage to hold an open meeting with the Azerbaijani president, what would you say to him, in 2-3 sentences, that would also be a message to the international community?"

According to Babayan, the only obstacle is the spread of hatred. "If they [Azerbaijanis] instill their children with hatred toward Armenians starting from preschools, what mutually acceptable option should be discussed?" he asked and added: "They view us [Armenians] as enemies, even as incomplete human beings."
