YEREVAN. – Hayk Alumyan, a lawyer for second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, sees a connection between presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan's illness and the petition of personal guarantee by the former prime ministers of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), which was scheduled to be submitted at today's hearing which was not held due to the illness of the judge.

Speaking to reporters, the lawyer said that they had informed former Prime Ministers of Armenia Vazgen Manukyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Karen Karapetyan and former Prime Minister of Artsakh Anushavan Danielyan that Tuesday’s trial had been postponed, so they did not appear in court.

"We were assured on Friday night that the session would be held," Alumyan added. “Yesterday I submitted the PMs’ petition and the letters to the court, and they again did not tell us anything. Suddenly this morning we are informed that the session will not take place.

Serious questions arise. At the next hearing, we will ask for clarifications on what health problems the judge has, if she was cured, then where. We want to have guarantees that there is no attempt to exclude the presence of one or two guarantors. We have suspicions that this is done on purpose as, in addition to the letter and transferring money to the deposit account, guarantors must be present at the discussion of this petition."

As reported earlier, at today's court hearing, former Prime Ministers Vazgen Manukyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Karen Karapetyan, as well as former Artsakh Prime Minister Anushavan Danielyan were to file a petition with the court that ex-President Robert Kocharyan's current precautionary measure of arrest be commuted on the basis of their personal guarantee.
