YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received newly appointed National Security Service (NSS) Director Eduard Martirosyan and Chief of Police Arman Sargsyan.

"A large number of NSS and police officers are involved in the anti-epidemic campaign, who strongly assist the Ministry of Health," Pashinyan said, in particular, expressing his gratitude to all the police, NSS, and healthcare workers.

"We all know under what circumstances and conditions the personnel changes have taken place in the NSS and the Police," he added. “We all have learned and know the problems that existed six months ago in the Police and NSS. The key question we need to answer is the following: Have we been able to make landmark changes in the work of both systems over these past six months? We have to clearly say that we have not been able to make landmark changes, but we have done something else. We have brought to light a huge circle of problems that are hindering us today to have the Police and the NSS we dream of."

He added that there was a factor that was essential in the reappointment of Martirosyan and Sargsyan. "I have clearly recorded and seen that you are not trying to conceal and hide the problems that exist today," he explained. “It inspires confidence that you will be consistent in solving those problems. Yes, we have, in fact, taken stock of a very large circle of problems, and recorded that there is simply no alternative to resolving those problems."
