Yes, Minister of Justice of Armenia Rustam Badasyan is my friend, but he didn’t play any role in my appointment as chairman of the State Revenue Committee. This is what Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Edvard Hovhannisyan told reporters after today’s government session, in response to a journalist who said there are rumors that the newly appointed chairman of the State Revenue Committee is a close friend of the justice minister and that this is why he was appointed chairman.

“Rustam Badasyan didn’t mediate for me. I can only assume that the Prime Minister selected me because of the work I had done before being appointed to this position,” Edvard Hovhannisyan said.
