Armenian actions should continue intensively in the direction of restraining the growth in the number of COVID-19 patients, health minister Arsen Torosyan said on Friday.

"I think it's too early to talk about the recession. There were days when we had 700 cases, but today there are 612 new cases, which is a considerable number for a country like ours," he said. "We must pay special attention to the number of people in serious and extremely serious conditions."

When asked whether medical 'classification' is already underway, the minister noted that Armenia has been 'classifying' COVID-19 patients from the very beginning.

"After assessing the condition of the patient, it is decided what kind of medical care he needs," he noted adding that now people with the moderate condition will be treated at home.
