Deputy and head of the Prosperous Armenia faction Gagik Tsarukyan, who has already been stripped of parliamentary immunity and is currently being interviewed at the National Security Service, refused to come to parliament and give a speech after the Prosecutor General submitted a petition to provide the opportunity to deprive Tsarukyan of his liberty. This is what Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan declared in parliament today.
“During this period, I have contacted the administration of the National Security Service. You know, Mr. Tsarukyan expressed the desire to go there, and Mr. Tsarukyan was informed that he could give a speech and was offered to be escorted to the parliament to give the speech, but he refused,” he said.
A short while ago, with 87 votes in favor, head of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly Gagik Tsarukyan was stripped of parliamentary immunity. The Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia factions didn’t participate in the vote.
