The same attorney general who, at one time wanted to strip Nikol Pashinyan of his parliamentary immunity by performing the order of the former authorities, is currently performing the order of the incumbent authorities.

This is what deputy of Prosperous Armenia Party Naira Zohrabyan told reporters in front of the National Security Service today, touching upon the fact that Gagik Tsarukyan was stripped of parliamentary immunity and deprived of his liberty after a vote in parliament.

“What happened is unequivocally political. There is no legal process. No government can blockade Armenia and keep extending the state of emergency to prohibit people from holding protests and exercising their right to protest. I believe this will all end soon. I simply urged the attorney general to continue to be a professional and have morals in parliament, but unfortunately, he didn’t. I regret that the revolution will end this way because our political party had joined the revolution with great excitement, welcomed the reforms and are still ready to make those reforms, but unfortunately, we see repression, lies and failures in all sectors,” Zohrabyan said.

According to her, everything that is happening in Armenia can’t continue for a long time because it is inacceptable for many people and political parties, is overtly political and unlawful.

When asked who will lead the political party and who will be part of the organizing committee if Gagik Tsarukyan is arrested, Zohrabyan said there will be representatives of different political parties, yet didn’t mention anything about the leadership.

Touching upon the allegations against her, Zohrabyan said she might be detained tomorrow because of the ridiculous information according to which she has given electoral bribes.

The MP said she is glad that the parliament passed the law on civil forfeiture of illegal assets because there will be many interesting revelations in a couple of years.

When asked if Gagik Tsarukyan will make another statement and say he is leaving politics, Zohrabyan said Gagik Tsarukyan will remain in politics and she herself is ready to undergo all the trials and tribulations that politicians go through.
