Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan's attorney Yerem Sargsyan said they had filed a motion for self-recusal with the court, which left for the consultation room to consider the motion.

“We believe the procedure for inscribing cases to judges, that is, the chairman of the particular court selects a particular judge and inscribes a case to him or her, is initially a violation of the right to fair trial because it doesn’t provide the guarantee that the judge needs to be selected randomly,” he said.

According to Sargsyan, there is always a problem with judges at Yerevan court of general jurisdiction in Shengavit Administrative District, except for two or three judges.
