Armenia consults with European organizations as a partner, and I believe Armenia’s cooperation with the Venice Commission is working out. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Hovhannes Igityan told reporters in parliament today.
“We don’t have personal ties with the representatives of the Venice Commission, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have close ties. We work at the institutional level and as partners.
In this regard, the model that Armenia wants to implement is generally accepted in the civilized world. We didn’t make the model up since it’s written in the Constitution amended in 2015. What surprises me is why you don’t go and ask the authors of the Constitution of 2015 why they gerrymandered the model that the Venice Commission had approved and extended the term of the previous model?” he said, adding that this was fraud.
