Armenia’s experience can be instructive for many countries, including developed countries. This is what Minister of Health of Armenia Arsen Torosyan said during an online press conference today.
According to him, medicine is not too different in all countries, including when it comes to the fight against the coronavirus.
“Since day one, Armenia has been proceeding with the evidential base that exists in all parts of the world. Simultaneously, all countries have their peculiarities, the so-called school of medicine, and this is where there is a difference in terms of use of knowledge and approaches,” he stated.
The minister clarified that all that happened made everyone reinterpret the importance of the field of medicine and start focusing on it. He added that Armenia’s healthcare system, which receives fewer financial resources than the healthcare systems of other countries, also has good indicators, for instance, with regard to mortality.
“Armenia is still in a bad situation in terms of absolute indicators, but the trend that shows a declining pace of the daily growth instills optimism for the future. The administrative penalties won’t lead to the desired outcome, if people in society aren’t aware and don’t have an appropriate line of conduct,” he concluded.
