YEREVAN. – Opposition figure Ruben Hakobyan, a member of Vernatun Club, and Director of the “Akunk” Center for the Political Analysis, on Saturday spent about two hours at the National Security Service (NSS), where he was called because of his views expressed Friday outside the Constitutional Court of Armenia.

"We basically talked for a long time about technical issues; I suggested that the conversation be recorded on a mobile phone. They discussed several times—probably with the leadership—referred to a government law of 2011 where it was noted who could do it; but it was about litigation process; was not convincing. We disputed that, and next time—probably on Wednesday—I will come [to the NSS] with the lawyer,” he said, noting that this is an omission in the law because they could misrepresent the conversation.

Hakobyan added that they had a very normal conversation, but next time he will come with a lawyer so that his words will not be presented in different ways.

Ruben Hakobyan was summoned to the NSS in connection with calls to overthrow the constitutional order, which he had made in an interview Friday outside the Constitutional Court.
