The Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms of Armenia is ready to listen to any recommendation and host discussions, especially when there is a recommendation from the President of Armenia. This is what Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan told reporters today, touching upon the fact that President Armen Sarkissian has recommended that the President appoint three judges of the Constitutional Court, not nominate candidates for the National Assembly to approve.

“Of course, we will touch upon the recommendation within the scope of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms. You know that this model is acceptable for the international community and that we believe the model is rather balanced in the sense that various constitutional bodies are involved in the process. The existing model ensures counterbalances, and the Venice Commission has also recorded this,” Badasyan said.
