  • Fixed-term serviceman of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Private Artur Muradyan, who was severely wounded on July 14 as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression, died at the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia today.

The Ministry of Defense told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Private Artur Muradyan had been severely wounded at the maintenance station of one of the military units stationed in the northeastern direction of Armenia and had been transferred to the Central Clinical Military Hospital in extremely critical condition. Despite their efforts, doctors failed to save the serviceman’s life.

The death toll has reached 688.

In fact, 10,013 people are currently undergoing treatment.

A total of 25,244 people have already recovered, 688 patients died.

During the session, Avetisyan said if he was elected judge of the Constitutional Court, he would do everything possible to make sure judges of the Constitutional Court are independent, apolitical and impartial and to ensure the role of the Constitutional Court in strengthening and enhancing democracy.

  • The US House Rules Committee has given a green light for the amendment calling for continued US aid for Artsakh demining to be considered and voted upon by the full US House of Representatives, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) reported. 

The US House is set to take up the amendment as early as Thursday, July 23.

The Rules Committee ruled “out of order” Amendment #69 which sought to block any U.S. funding for humanitarian de-mining in Artsakh. A similarly hostile amendment, offered by Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), was withdrawn earlier today. The panel also ruled out of order the ANCA-backed amendment which would have increased U.S. aid to Armenia by $20 million.

  • Residents of the borderline Nerkin Karmiraghbyur village of Armenia’s Tavush Province woke up to good news this morning when they found out that the local school’s math teacher had given birth to triplets.

“This is truly a miracle for all of us, particularly our Tavush Province,” the school’s administration reported.
