YEREVAN. – The court session on the criminal case of retired General Manvel Grigoryan, an ex-MP and former chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union of Armenia, has resumed Tuesday.

According to the court decision, Grigoryan's pretrial detention was commuted on January 15. He was in critical condition in those days and was at the intensive care unit of a hospital.

Grigoryan's lawyers have motioned the court several times to allow him to be treated abroad, but the court has denied those motions. According to his lawyers, he continues to be in severe health condition.

Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, misappropriation of property, tax evasion, waste of state funds, and organizing the stealing of property through extortion.
