The majority My Step faction of the National Assembly (NA) on Saturday is meeting with Edgar Shatiryan, who will be the new candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court at the suggestion of the government of Armenia.
Shatiryan is a Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, and a lecturer at the Chair of Constitutional Law at Yerevan State University.
After his meeting with the My Step MPs, Vahram Avetisyan, the government’s former candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court, had petitioned to the NA speaker to withdraw his consent to this candidature.
August 26 is the deadline for the new Constitutional Court composition to be formed.
