An explosion took place this morning, according to preliminary data, due to a [natural] gas leak, a four-story panel building partially collapsed. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan wrote about this on his Facebook page (PHOTOS).

"I have instructed the relevant subdivisions of the [Yerevan] Municipality to provide temporary shelters to the residents affected by the explosion.

"Experts will study the issue of seismic resistance of the partially collapsed building and, based on that, of its subsequent restoration," Marutyan added, in particular.
